Four time Open Championship winner Bobby Locke explains creating topspin without hopping, skidding or sidespinning is the key to solid putting.
The putter face is curved at the top and bottom, with a flat, grooved area in the center. When you hit the ball with the TopSpin, its curved upper section produces a gear effect and the ball starts rolling right away.
No other putter produces an immediate top spin like the TopSpin putter. Jack Kuykendall tested a typical 20-foot putt with the Scotty Cameron and the Odyssey Two-ball. When putting with these two, the golf ball becomes airborne with backspin during the first several feet.
The TopSpin is especially functional from off the green when used as a Texas Wedge. TopSpin's rounded bottom pushes the grass down as the rounded top produces a gear effect that gets the ball airborne with top spin.
